Another Wet Day In Vancouver

Well, I guess some things just don’t change. It rained yesterday morning in Vancouver and was cloudy and damp the rest of the day.  This morning it is still raining with no sunshine in foreseeable future.

Last night Marg had another dental crisis as one of her veneers broke off.  It seems at least once on every trip something happens to her teeth.  We got her to a dentist this morning and had it cemented back on.  So it is all good.

Yesterday we started off by driving around the city and ended up at Granville Island.  Granville is a shopping area, on the shore of False Creek, with many boutiques and a large farmers market.  Here you can buy anything from West Coast Native art to million dollar yachts to your basic custom jewellery and tee shirts.

After the rain stopped we proceeded to Stanley Park, where we did the horse drawn carriage tour.  The guide was quite amusing and you could tell she truly loved her horses.  When Liam lived in Vancouver he visited the park numerous times and had gotten to know the horse call “Bear” or as he called him “Barebutt”.   We found out from the guide that Bear is now a lawn ornament for a farmer in the Frasier Valley.  I thought that meant that the farmer had poor Bear stuffed and mounted, like Roy Rogers did to Trigger, but the guide just meant he had been bought and was now spending his time at the farmers pasture.

Rocky arrived yesterday afternoon from Kelowna.  He was glad to have finished his work and he could now relax.

For supper we all went to the Salmon House on the Hill in North Vancouver.  It has an amazing view of downtown Vancouver and Stanley Park.  I still consider this restaurant to be one of best restaurants I’ve ever eaten at.  It did not disappoint.  As a bonus they had Red Rooster wine which is our favorite wines from BC.
