High Tea In Vancouver

Today’s activities are more notable for their quality than their quantity.  Marg took Wendy, Joan and Bronka to High Tea at the Fairmount Vancouver Hotel.  The high tea was everything you would imagine from reading about upper class society during the height of British Empire.  There were many different types of finger sandwiches, multiple cups of a wide variety of teas and of course scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam.  All of this was served on fine china by immaculately dressed waiters/waitresses.  Wendy was thrilled beyond words and everyone was in agreement that this was a very special occasion.

Bronka was Liam and Mckenna’s day care provider when they lived here in Vancouver.  She truly adores these children and we believe she has played a significant role in the educational development of our grandchildren.

For dinner Marg, Wendy and myself went to a Malaysian restaurant on Davie Street called the Banana Leaf.  It was very tasty but I must admit my pork was a little too spicy for my liking.  On the menu it was one of the few items that wasn’t annotate with a chilli pepper, so I can only imagine how hot those other meals must be.
